Mumbai : Call it coincidence or a quirk of fate. Arjun Tendulkar, Sachin’s son has scored 99 in all the subjects in the pre-final exams this month. Dr Anjali Tendulkar went to check with his school Principal, where and how he had lost one mark in every paper.
“Some problem with his hand-eye coordination because of which he is making a silly mistake and losing one mark and missing out on getting a hundred,” said the Principal. “Also I think there is too much expectation from him that he will score 100 marks. That seems to be upsetting his concentration.”
The only solace is only one student, Virat Kohli, has scored 100 marks in one subject in the entire school.
In Najafgarh, near Delhi, a group of hardware professionals who were sent to Australia to work in December, have been deported back to India.
“They were found too slow at work, unable to meet stringent Aussie deadlines. Plus their work ethic was found negative. Despite several showcause notices, they still took their regular tea break, would just not move their feet and worse, tried to form a union to put pressure on the management, which was trying a rotation policy by benching some of them on certain shifts,” an official of the industry told Tenali Rama.
Meanwhile, the Chennai fishermen association has offered its honorary membership to Suresh Raina, who plays for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Murugesh, president of CFA told reporters that Raina fished well in all matches and always got caught in the slips. “We think he wasted his time becoming a cricketer. He has a bright career ahead if he becomes a fisherman,” he said.
In this southern city, families fixing up alliances are saying a big no to bridegrooms combining work with honeymoon. “We have seen what happened with our off-spinner Ashwin. As `The Hindu’ reported, he did not perform well in cricket. Nor did he have a good honeymoon,” said P Swaminathan, whose daughter is to get married to Vignesh next month. Vignesh was to tour Melbourne after the wedding but Swaminathan has put his foot down. His family members however said, Swaminathan may just agree to a honeymoon in Dhaka, since the work pressure there will be less strenuous.
Talking of weddings, Zaheer Khan who will soon return to India, and get married to Isha Shravani has to deal with another issue first. The wedding planner has asked Zaheer if he will be fully fit by the time of his marriage.
“We are asking because only if he is fit, we will arrange for a horse. Otherwise, we will have to order a car and also engage a physiotherapist and masseur to be on standby,” he explained.
