Chennai : The real reason behind Jayalalithaa `unfriending’ Sasikala in the real world is out. And the culprit is this old photograph that Sasikala had posted on her Facebook profile and tagged Jayalalithaa on it, with the caption `it was lovely to get 40 per cent off’.
When Jaya asked Sasikala on Facebook chat what was she talking about, Sasikala revealed she had got a cool 40 per cent off on the jewellery bought in 2003. The chief minister lost her cool because apparently she had been given just a measly 10 per cent discount. On further probing, Sasikala revealed the jeweller had given a pair of sandals free. Again, Jaya hadn’t got any.
Jayalalithaa immediately cancelled the meeting on controversial Mullaperiyar dam issue that had been convened with senior officials and `poked’ Sasikala. A war of words ensued as Jaya accused her friend of entering into discount deals behind her back. She demanded to see all bills of jewellery, sarees and sandals bought by Sasikala ever since she moved into Poes Garden.
That’s where, the break in the 30-year friendship took place. As bill after bill revealed hefty discounts for Sasikala and measly ones for Jaya, the CM lost her temper. She immediately `unfriended’ Sasikala and blocked and reported her for spam to the authorities. She also ordered that no one in the AIADMK and the government should remain friends with Sasikala on Facebook or follow her on Twitter.
Later in the evening, when neighbour Rajini came calling, he found Jayalalithaa singing his son-in-law Dhanush’s `Kolaveri’ number.

Jaya stopped when she saw Rajini stepping in and reportedly asked what brought him to her home.
“Naan eppo varuven eppadi varuvennu yarukkum theriyathu, aanaa vara vendiya nerathule correctaa varuven,” said Rajini (No one knows when I will come, how I will come but I will always arrive at the correct time)
A heartbroken Jaya poured her woes out to Rajini. Sources at the CM’s residence told Tenali Rama that Rajini comforted her by reeling out dialogues from his film `Padayappa’.
“You know one thing? Anger is the cause of all mizeries and one should know how to kantrol eet - otherwise life will become mizarabal (miserable). Try to undershtand that.”

Jaya admitted she felt better listening to Rajini and promised to get back to matters of governance. The chief secretary was asked to immediately issue a statement ordering jewellery shops in Tamilnadu to give uniform discounts to all customers.
