The Advani `blog’ from Nagpur

Nagpur : I always enjoy coming to Nagpur, the city of oranges. Orange is the closest to our party colour, saffron. People often refer to it as BJP’s 10 Janpath but I would say only computer illiterates can fail to understand the importance of RSS in today’s world. I mean, the cyberworld. BJP is a modern hi-tech party and takes its RSS feed very seriously. See, at 83, I blog.

I must share with you the joy I felt when I met Nitin Gadkariji, our adhyaksh. What a transformation after his bariatric surgery. Before and After ka itna badiya udharan maine to jeevan me kabhi kahin nahi dekha. He could bend comfortably to touch my feet. Now no one can accuse the BJP of being a top-heavy organization.

A lot is being written and reported about whether I will be in the race for PM in 2014. Why talk about it now? I believe in peaking at the right time. As Atalji once famously said, I am neither tired nor retired. However, Gadkariji will take time to join the race. And strictly on medical advice.

Some uncharitable critics have compared me with former India cricket captain Kapil Dev, who also hung around till he crossed Sir Richard Hadlee’s record of 431 Test wickets. I want to clarify the comparison is erroneous as Kapil’s stock wicket taking delivery was the outswinger while I specialise in bowling the doosra. Like, for instance, how I surprised everyone by deciding on yet another yatra.

So friends, I take leave for now as the airhostess on board this Nagpur-New Delhi flight is badgering me to close the laptop as it is time for the pilot to take off. Yet another journey in my yatra of life.
